The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) is proud to announce the third class of the Maritime Leadership Certification Program (MLCP). This class will graduate with a comprehensive understanding of the maritime supply-chain industry, a network of key industry stakeholders, and critical leadership skills.

“This program will give participants more exposure than what is in front of them day-to-day and will help develop relationships they would not be able to normally," said David White, Executive Vice President of the VMA. "These relationships, as they become leaders in our industry, will become vital to the success of the port.”

Here is what a few current participants have had to say about MLCP:

"I'm impressed and energized after every session," said Camille Crofton Cherry, participant of the first cohort and a MLCP steering committee member. "The combination of industry segments and leadership development means there's always something to learn!"

“Within a few sessions, the MLCP exceeded my expectations," said Amanda Robinson of McAllister Towing, and current MLCP participant. "Even though I have been in the maritime industry for over 10 years, I’ve already been exposed to a wealth of new information and am surrounded by some of the brightest around. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the MLCP.”

We appreciate everyone who applied and those who recommended them. Please keep up with our MLCP happenings on our website, social media #VMAmlcp and in Maritime Bulletins.
