NORFOLK | On May 20, 2020, you may have heard a 30-second horn blast coming from vessels, trucks, or even digital horns from phone apps...THAT was the sound of gratitude to the pandemic front line workers in the maritime supply chain. They make it possible to deliver essential medical supplies and equipment, as well as household essentials safely to homes, hospitals, and offices. Thank you #supplychainworkers!

The horn blast was coordinated by the Virginia Maritime Association and saw statewide participants from VMA members and port partners!

Thank you to everyone who participated in sounding horns, taking videos, and sharing photos to mark the moment. Your gratitude was heard!

Learn more about the origins of the simultaneous horn blast!
