Second Class Of Maritime Leadership Certification Program Announced

Thursday, June 6, 2019   (0 Comments)

The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) is proud to announce the second class of the Maritime Leadership Certification Program (MLCP). This class will graduate with a comprehensive understanding of the maritime supply-chain industry, a network of key industry stakeholders, and critical leadership skills.

“This program will give participants more exposure than what is in front of them day-to-day and will help develop relationships they would not be able to normally," said David White, Executive Vice President of the VMA. "These relationships, as they become leaders in our industry, will become vital to the success of the port.”

"I'm impressed and energized after every session," said Camille Crofton Cherry, the VMA Future Leader Chair and MLCP steering committee member. "The combination of industry segments and leadership development means there's always something to learn!"

“In just the first few sessions, the MLCP has far exceeded my expectations," said Amanda Robinson of McAllister Towing, and current MLCP participant. "Even though I have been in the maritime industry for over 10 years, I’ve already been exposed to a wealth of new information and am surrounded by some of the brightest around.  I feel very fortunate to be a part of the MLCP.”
