“There are tremendous opportunities associated with the James River and Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River,” said David White, executive vice president of the Virginia Maritime Association. “We need to make sure that our rivers and channels are maintained, that we move towards the deepening of the Southern Branch, and that we continue protecting navigation and the needs of the vessels.”

The event was held on the 99th anniversary of the Virginia Maritime Association who already has plans in place for celebrating 100 years of maritime industry growth next year. Learn more about VMA2020.
