VMA Welcomes Aboard New VP; Will Fediw

The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) is pleased to announce the addition of Will Fediw as Vice President of Industry & Government Affairs. While assisting in the fulfillment of VMA’s broader mission, he will also play a key role in developing and implementing strategies that improve the business, regulatory, and political climate for VMA member companies. Furthermore, he will keep VMA’s membership and leadership advised of regulatory and legislative developments within Virginia’s ports and related industries, ensuring open and timely communication and representation.
For over a decade, Will has been involved in maritime operations, stakeholder relations, and industry advocacy. While working closely with federal, state, and local governments in several ports, he helped orchestrate marine infrastructure permitting, maritime transportation initiatives & legislation, and to promote maritime economic development solutions.
Growing up in Hampton Roads, Will graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree in Maritime Supply Chain Management, during which he was an intern at Norfolk International Terminals. Following graduation, he served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard specializing in maritime safety & security regulatory compliance. Afterwards, he worked as a Director-level manager for a private natural gas firm developing marine export terminals in the Gulf Coast, also serving as the Vice-Chair of the Louisiana Energy Export Association.
Additionally, Will holds a Master of Business Administration through the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
