USCG - Reopening Port of Hampton Roads

Sunday, January 8, 2017

The U.S. Coast Guard has issued the following.

Reopening Port of Hampton Roads

After continuing evaluations of port conditions following the passage of the recent winter storm, the Captain of the Port (COTP) Hampton Roads has lifted all remaining restrictions imposed on traffic bound to, from, or through the Hampton Roads COTP zone, effective at 0900, 8 January 2017.

Mariners are advised that the winter storm may have caused damage to aids to navigation and facilities. While traffic is permitted to resume on the waterways, vessels are to determine individually with receiving facilities that those facilities are still capable of receiving vessels, or whether alternate arrangements need to be made. Please report any hazards to navigation or aid discrepancies to the Sector Hampton Roads Command Center at (757)668-6635.

COMMUNICATIONS: Call (757) 668-5555, ext. 3 for a recorded message of current port conditions.
