Please join other maritime executives to participate in this year’s “Port Day” in recognition of our maritime industry in Richmond on Thursday, February 8th.
Now that the historic $350Million investment is “under construction” we must continue our momentum towards WIDER-DEEPER-SAFER channels, so that Virginia’s ports remain competitive. In the 2018 session, it is imperative that the General Assembly appropriate the funds needed to accelerate the harbor dredging to 55 feet. This project is the cornerstone of Virginia’s economic future.
Your participation is needed so we can deploy enough teams to visit all 140 members of the General Assembly. Online registration allows you to indicate whether you will meet the group in Richmond or ride the bus departing Norfolk at 6:00a.m.
If you would like to travel with the group a bus will be departing from the Norfolk Yacht & Country Club (NYCC) at 6:00 a.m., (coffee and muffins will be available), with planned arrival at the General Assembly Building prior to 8:00 a.m. Space on the bus will be limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn Downtown Richmond (700 E. Main Street) for participants choosing to arrive the night before on February 7th. Call 804-643-5400, reference the date of February 7th and the group name “VA Maritime” to receive discounted rate of $159. Reservations must be made by Friday, February 2nd at midnight.
