This course is designed to familiarize land-base firefighters and Maritime personnel on procedures necessary to handle a marine incident within a port or waterway. This course meets NFPA 1405 standards.

PREREQUISITES

All students should have completed IS 100 and IS 200. The courses can be complete online at http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/IS/crslist.asp

Students should be good physical condition. The course will require participating in live burn evolutions, on-site tours of large ocean going vessels, climbing of steep ladders and gangways, working in enclosed spaces and participating in a live exercise while underway on a vessel upon open waters.

Most evolutions will require full turnout gear and SCBA.
